1987

Although whatever Michael did was put on the news, there are countless stories that many do not know, and while in Japan it is no different. Mr. Takaya, a chef at one of the hotel Michael stayed out, shared his encounter with Michael. Actually, in the beginning there wasn't an encounter because according to Mr. Takaya, Michael would always eat by himself in his room. Takaya would get the order from the bodyguards of the meal, create it, and deliver it to Michael's room. One night he delivered the food to Michael and was about to turn and leave when Michael said, "No, stay and eat with me."

Mr. Takaya was confused, why would Michael, the biggest superstar on the planet, want to eat with him? He sat down and ate with Michael, sharing stories and jokes. Suddenly Michael asked him to sing him a song. You can imagine how perplexed and nervous Mr. Takaya was, to sing in front of Michael Jackson! He then decided to sing a song called Akatombo, which is an old children's song that means "red dragonfly."

. Needless to say, that visit left an lasting impression on Mr. Takaya. He is now a chef in the city of Ibaraki Prefecture and will gladly tell the story of the day he met Michael. Kaori will be meeting up with him soon and who knows the stories he will share!
