Michael你遇見Pavarotti了嗎?
Michael Jackson與Pavarotti這兩位在不同音樂領域卻都同屬重量級腳色的樂壇巨星，均相繼在前後兩年過逝，讓人感嘆的不僅是音樂殿堂巨星殞落的失落，對於我個人似乎是一個時代的告別，我的青春年少，似乎因為兩位的消逝，而告一個段落。也許，未來當我對女兒們談及"媽媽年少青春時期"的音樂喜好時，這兩位已經不存在世上的人物對他們來說就像是過去聽見爸媽常跟我提及的"白光"那麼的遙遠、陌生與無法想像。
Michael Jackson的驟逝，讓我震驚、感嘆、難過，許多塵封在暗箱裡的過往記憶，在這段時間中讓我拿出來翻閱整理，才驟然想起，原來這兩位大師，給了我這麼多的第一次！
第一次聽見Michael的音樂，是那首叫做"Bad"的歌曲！在那個國外音樂傳播資訊缺乏的年代，MTV台以及余光的音樂節目，都是我在假日午後想為了他們而守在電視前的節目！
透過節目播放的MTV，讓我認識了Michael舞蹈的爆發力還有整團舞群的簡潔一致性，讓那個年紀小小的我，見識到了台灣那塊土地以外的歌手的震撼力，也是從他開始讓我對於美國流行樂產生了喜好！也是他，讓我在小六時就試著走進"玫瑰唱片行"選了那捲tape帶回家，反覆聽了好久好久始終不膩！似乎，也是從那時開始讓自己覺得－『好大的美國！好多的好歌手都來自那塊土地，有朝一日，一定要去那裡感受一下那塊土地是有怎樣的熱情與power，才能孕育出這麼多的好singer！』可惜的是，到目前為止，我還無法實踐這樣的願望。
而兩年前驟逝的Pavarotti也讓我難過好久好久。高中時代，就是聽到Pavarotti那高亢到直入雲霄的Turandot杜蘭朵公主，這首曲子，深深打進我心理，讓我第一次聽到音樂劇歌曲竟會產生莫名的感動，也讓我覺得非衝進玫瑰唱片行去買到那首曲子的CD不可！之後的O sole mio，彷彿也只有Pavarotti才能唱出太陽的溫暖熱情美好的感動！記得當時三大男高音來台獻唱時，我哪知道其他兩位是誰，每次看報紙介紹，要把另兩位Domingo、Carreres的名字記起來，真是花了我不少日子才終於記住的.....是嘛～我知道啦！就是因為有另兩位的協力，三大男高音的演唱才會這麼具有震撼力！只是，誰叫我第一位認識的就只有Pavarotti呢！
這兩位在不同音樂領域的唱匠，不僅讓人耳裡聽起來震撼，就連心裡、腦子裡都因為他們蕩氣迴腸的音樂而產生許多不同的畫面情景！他們倆位唱出的，不僅是一首首動人心弦的好樂章，更是一幅幅活靈活現的繪畫作品，他們的音樂超越了單純的"歌曲"，對我來說，他們的音樂是一系列的藝術品！
只是，這兩位卻都在這兩年相繼過世，真的讓我難過好久好久！雖然科技的進步讓歷史可以不斷重現，然而，我們卻再也無法期待這兩位音樂唱匠為我們帶來新的震撼與感動！
Michael，不知道你在天國遇到Pavarotti沒？希望我的禱告能傳給在另外世界的你們，期望你們兩位都好！謝謝你們陪伴我的成長，為我的人生帶來了這麼多美好與驚嘆的經驗！

Pavarotti And Friends For War Child 1999 Charity Concert
Pavarotti & Friends for War Child' 1999 Charity Concert Will Aid the Children of Kosovo and Guatemala
Guest Stars Include BB King, Mariah Carey, Joe Cocker, Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson and Ricky Martin
Luciano Pavarotti will join forces with a line-up of international stars for his sixth annual charity concert, "Pavarotti & Friends for War Child", which for the first time will raise funds for programs run by War Child USA, the recently launched organization that is providing much needed aid to children of Kosovo and Guatemala.
Among the stars scheduled to perform June 1 with Pavarotti in his hometown of Modena, Italy, are BB King, Boyzone, Alex Britti, Mariah Carey, Joe Cocker, Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson, Ricky Martin, Gianni Morandi, Laura Pausini, Renato Zero, Lionel Richie and Zucchero.
Filmmaker Spike Lee will collaborate with Pavarotti for the second time as the event's film and television director, and the concert will be produced by legendary music producer Phil Ramone.
Lee and Pavarotti helped to launch War Child USA in January as the newest affiliate of the six-year-old international War Child network. Each of the previous Pavarotti & Friends concerts benefited specific programs of the international War Child charity.
Using proceeds from this year's concert, War Child will donate $1 million to help the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) continue to provide emergency relief for young Kosovar refugees through its Safe Children project, making "Pavarotti & Friends for War Child 99" the first major international benefit concert for Kosovo.
Funds raised by the "Pavarotti and Friends for War Child" concert will also help build three educational and cultural centers for children in Guatemala , a project spearheaded by War Child USA .
War Child USA will evenly divide proceeds from the subsequent charity album and video, to be released by Decca Records, between the Guatemala project and relief for the children of Kosovo.
Past Pavarotti & Friends concerts for War Child have led to the building of War Child's state-of-the-art Pavarotti Music Center in Mostar , Bosnia , and last year's show funded a Liberian Children's Village which is currently under development by War Child.
These celebrated concerts have seen the worlds of opera, pop and rock unite. Artists appearing in previous shows have included Bryan Adams, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bolton, Jon Bon Jovi, Bono and the Edge of U2, The Chieftains, Eric Clapton, Natalie Cole, The Corrs, Sheryl Crow, Lucio Dalla, Pino Daniele, Celine Dion, Brian Eno, Bob Geldof, Elton John, Michael Kamen, Simon Le Bon, Brian May, Meat Loaf, Liza Minnelli, the Neville Brothers, Mike Oldfield, Joan Osborne, Florent Pagny, Eros Ramazzotti, Jon Secada, the Spice Girls, Sting, Suzanne Vega, Vanessa Williams, Stevie Wonder, Trisha Yearwood and Zucchero.
