Mat Horne: "For me, Christmas is Michael Jackson’s Bad LP"

“讓我想起聖誕的物品是邁克爾•傑克遜的《飆》專輯。我記得等待並得到它的那一年，封面很經典，但特別的照片和折疊插頁vinyl總讓我想起聖誕。”

“我常常播放，這不是我在耶誕節一般會做的事。但我總在想是否能從聖誕禮物中得到同樣的快樂，是否一些年輕的音樂愛好者能得到同樣的禮物。”

Michael Jackson’s Bad LP. Everything about Christmas makes me feel nostalgic! As soon as the first tinsel appears in shops – you know, just after Easter – it all begins. I love buying gifts for people anyway, so I guess it’s that point, for me, when I think, “Oh, that would be a good Christmas prezzie for him/her.

 

The item that makes me think of Christmas is Michael Jackson’s Bad LP. I remember wanting and getting it one year and it was such an iconic cover anyway, but the distinctive image and gatefold vinyl always reminds me of Christmas.

 

I play it a lot but it’s not something I tend to do at Christmas. But, I always wonder if I’ll ever get the same feeling of joy from a Christmas gift again or indeed, if some young music-head out there is getting the equivalent gift.
